California Hair Braiders ("CHB", "we", "us") operates the CHB mobile and web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This page is maintained by the CHB team.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: name, email, role (client or braider), and password (stored hashed).
- Profile & portfolio: bio, city, specialties, pricing, and photos you upload.
- Bookings & messages: appointment requests, chat messages, and attachments.
- Usage data: profile views, taps, and diagnostic logs to keep the app reliable.
- Device data: device model, OS version, and app version.
2. How we use information
- Provide the core service: search, Smart Match, booking, and messaging.
- Show braider analytics (views, leads, conversion).
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Respond to support requests and improve the product.
3. Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We share limited data with:
- Infrastructure providers that host our database, storage, and auth.
- Other users only as needed — e.g., a braider sees the client's name and message when a request is sent.
- Law enforcement when required by a valid legal request.
4. Your choices
- Edit or remove profile info at any time in Profile settings.
- Delete your account permanently in Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- California residents may request access, correction, or deletion under the CCPA/CPRA by emailing us.
5. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your profile, portfolio photos, messages, and requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and scoped storage buckets. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
7. Children
CHB is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
